Best and the Brightest/Fans Cameo
By almost pure chance, I happened upon this little sequence of cameos, which includes a very nice and completely in-character homage to Fans. Here's hoping the above link is sufficient reward for Doublemint's trouble.

Thank you kindly for the nod. It's been a good pick-me-up during this bout of mine with the flu.
Fans had a big impact on me in that it was the first webcomic to show me the wide range possible in the storytelling of a single webcomic. I also always dug the rotating artists and obscure sci-fi references. While it wasn't my "in" to webcomics (that honor goes to long-gone Avalon), Fans was the webcomic to get me thinking about the possibilities present in webcomics. Without it, my own strip wouldn't exist.
